AVAST

The town's in ruins,
treas'ry looted, coffers gone;
but what really hurts:

Seared into my brain,
pumpernickel, ham and Swiss
impaled on cruel blade.

Weep for ravaged lives
and savage, stark injustice.
I miss my sammich.

I swear I heard the mournful howl of the breeze blowing through the devestation at the end.

What kind of monsters would desecrate a sammich?!

I want not acquiesce in on it. I assume precise post. Particularly the title-deed attracted me to review the unscathed story.

My friend and I were recently talking about technology, and how integrated it has become to our daily lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that debate we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as the price of memory decreases, the possibility of copying our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about all the time.
